Module 1  Travel  

  1. 题材内容

本模块题材为旅游,内容和情节都很符合这一年龄段学生的兴趣,语言简单易懂,非常有利于开展听、说、读、写方面的语言实践活动,让学生在讨论语言的过程中学习语言,促使学生更有意识地自觉学习英语。语法重点是复习冠词的用法。通过操练,使学生在掌握语言结构的同时,既学习语言知识,感悟语言功能,又能增强学英语的自信心。本模块的Around the world栏目介绍了飞跃大西洋的第一架飞机。在阅读讨论的过程中,复习冠词的用法,鼓励学生多读多说多记。教学中教师应灵活利用各种素材组织教学过程和内容。充分调动学生的积极性。

    重点:通过训练学生的听、说、读、写能力,复习掌握重点是复习冠词的用法

  1. 教材处理

核心任务:采用不同途径收集、整理相关资料,通过小组合作完成谈论旅游的任务,并进行口头介绍。三个环节如下:

pre-task:学生联系生活实际,激活背景知识。

Task-cycle:通过整个模块的听说读写的训练,强化讨论旅游可以让人开阔视野、增长见识、了解不同的自然环境与文化。旅游祖国的大好河山,可以增强民族自豪感,激发更大的爱国热情,为完成任务做好铺垫。

post-task:达成任务,展示成果,反馈学习情况。

  1. 教材安排

根据学生学习英语的特点和规律,我们把本模块划分为4课时:

Period 1: Vocabulary and Listening & Pronunciation and Speaking

Period 2: Reading and Vocabulary

Period 3: Writing & Around the world & Module Task

Period 4: Language in use

注:教学时应根据学生的学习水平、生活实际水平、接受程度及课堂出现的临时状况进行运用、调整及筛选。

Title:    Module 1 Travel

Period 1: Listening and Vocabulary &Pronunciation and Speaking

Teaching Content: Listening and Vocabulary and Pronunciation and Speaking

Teaching Aims and Demands:

1. Language Knowledge

Key vocabulary and phrases: airplane, coach, departure, lounge, departure lounge, transport

Key structure: Sentence structure

2. Listening skill: To understand the topic words and the conversation.

              To know something about travel.

3. Speaking skill: Talk about one’s holiday and new term.
4.
Attitudes: Develop the interest to travel.

Learning strategies:

Bottom-up approach and listening to the tape and do some exercises.

Teaching Aids: Multi-Media (Tape recorder, video, OHP, handout)

Teaching Procedures:

Part I  Revision

  Task: Recall what we have learned in the last Book.

 Directions:

Step One: Label the pictures with the phrases.

(1)Read through the phrases in the box and have the Ss. Repeat them after you.

     (2)Ask them to label them in the pictures on the screen.

(3)Make some sentences with the phrases. Ask students to speak out as many as they can.

Step Two: Talk about your summer holiday. E.g.

      What did you do in your winter holiday?

Did you get up at 7?

             Where have you been?

              How many books have you read?

              What was the name of the books …?

              Which one do you like best …?

       What English program did you listen to?

       Have you been to any places of interest?

       Was it interesting?

          …

Ask students to speak out as many as they can.

 

   Part II   Lead in

   Task 1: Introduce to them the new words.

Directions:

Step One: Introduce the new words of this unit. And list them on the board.

Step Two: Read after the teacher.

Step Three: Practise reading the words.

Step Four: Ask the students to look at some pictures of places of interest . Elicit what they can see. If there are any new words, add them to the list on the board.

Step Five: Make some sentences using the new words from the whole class.

   Task 2: Talk about the picture as follows.

Directions:

Step One. First make sure the Ss understand what they should do. Ss read the words first in Activity 1 on page 2.

       Step Two: Explain that if they have difficulties.

       Step Three: Let the S talk about the questions by themselves.

Step Four: Have the Ss. make some sentences. (e. g. I like … most.)

 

Part III   Listening

Task 1: Listen and understand conversations.

    Directions:

Step One: Listen and check the words you hear in Activity 2 on page 2.

Step Two: Read through the questions. Make sure the Ss understand them all.

Step Three: Play the recording and have them answer the three questions in Activity 2.

Step Four: Then call back the answer from the whole class.

Step Five: Play the recording again for the Ss to check their answers.

Task 2: To understand conversations.

Directions:

Step One: Ask the Ss to listen to the passage and complete the table in Activity 3 .

Step Two: Play the recording again and have them check.

Step Three: Have the Ss listen again and complete the chart in Activity 5, and then check their answer with a partner.

Step Four: Call back the answer from the whole class.

Task 3: Listen and read.

  Directions:

Step One: Play the recording and ask the Ss. to listen and read the conversation.

Step Two: Play the recording again and pause after each phrase, asking the Ss. to repeat chorally and individually.

Step Three: Put the Ss. into groups of 4 to practise the dialogue.

Step Four: They should repeat it several times, changing the roles each time.

Task 4: language point

Task5: Discuss the questions in Activity 6.

Task 6: Complete the sentences in Activity 7.

 

Part IV Pronunciation

Task: Listen and repeat in Activity 8.

 Directions:

Step One: Play the recording and ask the Ss. to listen and repeat the sentences in Activity 8.

Step Two: Ask the Ss to listen and practise the sentences in activity 8.

Step Three: Say the sentences aloud.

Part V  Speaking

Task: Act out the conversation in Activity 9.

  Directions:

Step One: Read the conversation.

Step Two: Ask the Ss to work in groups of three or four and act out the conversation

Step Three: Listen and check.

 

Part VI  Homework

    Recite the short passage as fluently as possible.

 

Period 2   Reading and Vocabulary

Teaching Content: Reading and Vocabulary

Teaching Aims and Demands:

1. Language knowledge:

New words: nod, tear, towards, cigarette, though

Key Phrases: set off, get off  

Key structures: Sentence structure (重点)

Part I  Revision

  1. Help students to revise what is learnt in Period one of this module.

Show them some pictures about the new words in last period. Have the Ss. spell them chorally and individually.

2. Revise the sentence structure.

Part II  Preparation

Task 1: Learn the new words.

Directions: Label the pictures with the words.

(1) Read through the words on the screen. Have the Ss. Repeat them after you.

     (2) Read the words separately and have them remember them.

(3) Make some sentences with the words.

(4) Call back the answers from the whole class.

Task 2: Talk about travel.

Directions:

  1. Ask the question: Have you traveled before and where have you gone?

   Elicit some answers from the Ss, and note them on the board.

(2) Pair the Ss to discuss talk about travel.

(3)Work in pairs. Elicit conversations from the class. Accept anything they give.

Part III: Scanning and Skimming

  1. Task: Read the passage and find out the answers to these questions.

   Directions:

Step One: The teacher asks the Ss to look at the phrases from the passage and encourage them to guess what the passage will be about.

Step Two: Ss read the passage and number the phrases in the order they happen.

Step Three: Call back the answers from the whole class, having individuals read out the answers

2. Task: Read the passage and choose the best answer in activity2.

  Directions:

Step One: First make sure the Ss understand what they should do. Ss read the passage and do activity 2 on page 5 individually and check with a partner.

Step Two: Call back the answers from the whole class, having individuals read out the answers.

3. Task: work in pairs and talk about the questions in Activity 3.

  Directions:

Step One: ask the students to talk about the 5 questions in activity 3.

Step Two: Call back the answers from the whole class, having individuals read out the answers.

Part IV  Dealing with expressions

Explain the important and difficult points.
